Our Stay at Hilton West Palm Beach

February 27, 2019

Have you ever breathed a sigh of relief when you reached a hotel? Not simply “Yay we’re not on the plane anymore,” but a true sense of excitement for the hotel. That’s a rare occurrence for me. When we reached the Hilton West Palm Beach, and the automatic doors opened, *sigh* I knew it was going to be a great visit.

We were welcomed with warm smiles from the staff and plenty of help to get us checked in and situated in our room. It was Valentine’s Day, so they offered us some chocolates upon check in. I love that the hotel celebrated the holiday.

Hilton West Palm Beach is new; it opened in 2016. Naturally, the décor is modern, and it’s fresh and neutral giving the sense of a true oasis. Some hotels can feel sterile in their attempt to be sleek and clean, but not Hilton WPB. The lobby has large windows allowing the warm Florida sun to stream in. The décor feels relaxed yet luxurious with its cream and natural color palette, and accented with the perfect amount of greenery, giving a sense of calmness.

LOCATION:

The hotel is perfectly situated in downtown West Palm Beach. You can see CityPlace from the front door. It was convenient for our two young children to be able to use the crosswalk instead of driving. We were able to stroll downtown and find great places to eat and shop. The ocean is a few blocks away as well. The other bonus is the proximity to the highway. It is moments away if needed yet far enough to mute the noise and commotion.

ROOM:

We were given a two-room suite with a large bathroom. It was wonderful to have space for all four of us to spread out helping immensely with nap and bedtimes. The room was very clean with crisp furnishings that put us all in a tranquil mood. The Hilton WPB definitely spoiled us making our stay easier while traveling with children. If it’s in your budget, I strongly suggest booking a suite.

POOL:

I’m pretty sure our jaws hit the pool deck when we first encountered the Hilton WPB’s hidden gem. It is truly an oasis. The pool occupies enough space so you don’t feel crowded by other guests. It’s surrounded by cabanas, a few covered chairs and some lounge couches. There is a shallow wade-in area which perfectly suited our girls and where we spent all our time. Palm trees surround the pool some having strikingly fuchsia bougainvillea climbing the trunks. As you swim to one end of the pool, a colorful water feature wall enhances your pool experience.

RESTAURANTS

Manor is one of the eateries at Hilton WPB. The breakfast buffet features everything from cold cuts, buttery croissants and fruit, to hot oatmeal, eggs and sausage. Down the hall is a grab and go market. It’s much better than a typical “pantry,” which is usually difficult to find. The grab and go serves coffee, hot breakfast sandwiches, pastries and some cold deli selections.

Then there is Galley.

Oh my, Galley. My mouth is watering as I’m writing this. I had seen photos online, but my goodness this restaurant exceeded all my expectations. Not only is it impeccably decorated, but they were so wonderful to our little ones, and we enjoyed the best meal we had on our trip. You can choose to eat inside with the array of eclectic art or the fantastic greenery wall, or eat outside with the fire pit. The staff was kind, attentive and helpful and the manager is one of the best in the business. He was more than just nice; you can tell he absolutely loves people and welcoming them to the restaurant. Classic dishes with a twist, like my kimchi chicken or gourmet mac and cheese grace the menu. For dessert, you really must try the skillet chocolate chip cookie served piping hot and ooey gooey. If you live in West Palm Beach, or are visiting, RUN to eat here.

I could probably write a few more paragraphs worth of praise for the Hilton WPB, but I’m sure my feelings are clear. It’s quite a spectacular hotel and one I will continue to recommend if you’re future travel plans include West Palm Beach, Florida.

*Disclosure: We were hosted in exchange for a review and photos. The post is my honest opinion.
